Liang Xu is Associate Professor at the Peking University School of International Studies, with research and teaching interests in African social history, Chinese diaspora in Africa, and China-Africa relations. Liang received his PhD in African History from Harvard University in 2017. Liang also holds a PhD in International Relations (2010) from Peking University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws in International Relations in 2005. Liang is currently working on a book manuscript examining the history of labor-intensive industrialization in South Africa, focusing on Chinese garment factories and Zulu women workers. For Liang's profile page on Academia, please click here.

2. 国家社会科学基金一般项目“中国新移民与非洲工业化研究”，项目主持人（2020-2023），在研。
3. 国家社会科学基金重大项目“非洲通史（多卷本）”，项目组成员（2022-2027），参与古代卷和殖民卷撰写，在研。该重大项目主持人为李新烽研究员。
4. 国家社会科学基金重大项目“世界华商通史（六卷本）”，项目组成员，参与非洲卷撰写（2017-2022），已完稿（承担10万字）。该重大项目主持人为张秋生教授。
5. 《非洲历史大辞典》项目组成员（2023-2025），负责“国际关系”主题和“博茨瓦纳”国别词条撰写，在研。该项目主持人为沐涛教授。
