Profile:

Professor Jia Qingguo graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University in May 1979. He earned his M.A. (1984) and Ph.D. (1988) in Political Science from Cornell University, USA. He has taught at Beijing Foreign Studies University, the University of Vermont (USA), Peking University, Cornell University, the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Sydney (Australia). He has held academic titles ranging from teaching assistant to full professor and doctoral advisor.

He currently serves as a Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a member of its Foreign Affairs Committee, and a Special Inspector for the Ministry of Supervision.

He is on the editorial boards of:

He also serves on the editorial board of the Public Diplomacy Quarterly (Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC), and is a part-time professor at several universities in China. He was Dean of the School of International Studies at Peking University from December 2013 to November 2018.
